·Do you receive any error message when you try to connect the USB device to the system?
Refer to the Methods provided below and check if that helps in resolving the issue.
Method 1:
I would suggest you to connect the device into another USB port and check if the issue persists. You may also try to connect the device to another system and check if it gets detected there.
Method 2:
You may also run theHardware Troubleshooter and then check for the issue.
a) Open the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by clicking the Start button and then clicking Control Panel.
b) In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Under Hardware and Sound, click Configure a device.
c) If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Method 3:
If the above step does not help us to diagnose the issue, uninstall the drivers for USB [Universal Serial bus] host controller and restart the computer. Let Windows install the generic drivers and then see if it helps you to fix the issue.
a) Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, then Device Manager in the search box.
b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
c) Look for the device under USB [Universal Serial bus] host controller, right click on it and select Uninstall.

d) Reboot the computer.
